Closed hearts are often hurt hearts that are waiting to unfold. It is the patience that is needed to want what we have and not stay wishing what we don’t have. The opening occurs as we realize that even on days that we feel we have fallen to the rock bottom, we have the ability to experience being at the top of the mountain. It is through the ashes that we are asked to rise after having gone through the flames.

It is in the falling apart and in the mending of our hearts that we unfold. It can feel unbearably slow, but healing takes time. Any step in that direction will shift our lives forever.

So what is the meaning of this life ? To simply open our hearts ? Yes. For life has no meaning and it is in this unfolding that we see that life is a series of opportunities to which we create meaning. It is in this discomfort that we are asked to lean in and see that the pain is a sign to level up and grow, another experience to shift towards something even bigger.

It is not the time to sit under the tree of our minds and wondering where is the sunshine, but instead work on opening our hearts that holds all the light of the universe.

Soul work is not some high road of spirituality. It is just the opposite. It is a deep deep falling into a chasm of darkness that is unforgiving and will not let us leave till we find the song that sings of our journey home. Lifetime upon lifetime of closed hearts as we hide from the pain, when the pain is in fact the key to unlock us.

It is in all the places we are afraid to look that we shall find ourselves. We can try to avoid the darkness at the expense that our hearts remain tightly shut. Do the work, open the heart space, follow the path of purpose and truth. It is that simple.
