Afghanistan.

It has been in the airwaves with the visuals of refugees crammed into rescue airplanes like cargo, or desperate men, women and children running towards the relief aides with nothing more than a sack. There has been tremendous emotion surrounding this issue both with anger and sadness. We each react to various geopolitical or global economic circumstances differently, yet we react never the less because somewhere in our own sub conscious we relate and reflect the same as what others are going through. This happened to me.

I used to live in Kuwait with my parents as a kid. Happy life, till the Gulf war in 1990 happened. The woes of war with witnessing the capturing of soldiers, the abandoning of our home ( the only one I knew as shelter), the travels across no mans land, waiting in long lines for mercy flights to take us anywhere than where we were, the list goes on. Finally escaping across 3 countries ( Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan) to safety.

I remember it all like a vivid high definition movie as if it was happening right now. I can completely imagine what those people were going through as I have been there. Running away from torment, driven by fear, chasing safety. I feel their pain. Yet each of us feel it too. We each feel the injustice, the fear, the persecution, the measure of hopelessness, the misery of it all, as each of us have experienced these emotions in some fashion in our own way. Every trait or experience is felt by the collective consciousness and each person and perhaps unknowingly, own that feeling through their own event, eg perhaps persecution by school bullies, feeling of hopelessness in finances, misery of a relationship, injustice at a job, abandonment of friends.

We still feel everything just in different forms. We are all connected through our experiences and the collective. Be kinder to yourself and to each other. Each person is going through ALL the experiences in the ENTIRE human collective consciousness over many lifetimes. Each day each of us are simply expressing a sliver and fragment of the whole.

I love you
