Confirmation bias.

What is this weird phenomenon that affects each of us. It is a part of our human behavior where we are always looking to either confirm or disconfirm what we see in the world. When we speak a particular phrase the brain is looking to confirm it. If the story we choose to believe is that “life sucks”, “ people are bad”, “ everyone hates me” well then the brain cherry picks circumstances in our life to simply verify what we have just told it to believe.

When we say that “ we choose a better life”, “ I see the good in people”, “ I live an abundant life”, then the brain is looking to reinforce these statements, and will find evidence to support these hypotheses. Now the cherry picking process will be in favor of better circumstances. The mind simply is doing the job to maintain the reality that we choose to believe it to be.

It is wise to note that beliefs tell us what to see, and we label them with judgment. This is the difference between clarity and confusion. When we see things as they are, and not as we want them to be, we see reality, with clarity. When we see things as we want them to be with biased labeling then we create confusion of our minds. Additionally we will also create situations that fulfill the mind’s prophecies in order to create the confirmation bias that was imagined.

The heart sorts all this out and if we listen to the energetic field of our innate intuition we see reality as it is. This requires awareness. It is the recognition of the situation that is occurring, and observation with gratitude for every circumstances is both good and bad and yet neither is good nor bad. Our subconscious mind will continue this game of confirmation or disconfirmation biases depending on what supports or challenges our values.

Be intentional with your thoughts, words, actions. Listen to your heart.
