We live in a beautiful world of constant change, technology, wonder and advances. We have such amazing magic and awe residing in nature. There is magnificence in everything that we have around us, dare we see it. Our technology has our nervous system fully integrated with every impulse around the planet. To our detriment this level of convenience has created a monstrous alter ego in us. We want more.
In our jobs we work so that we can earn MORE money. When we eat our foods we want MORE in our portions even at restaurants for what we perceive we pay. We want MORE from our careers and so we stay longer and work harder. We want MORE material possessions and become the slaves of consumerism. We want bigger bank balances so we can spend MORE. We want MORE time so that we can DO more activities, see MORE movies, go to MORE places. We even push ourselves to try to receive MORE acknowledgment from the people we love or care about. It never ends.
The moment our senses come into contact with the manifested world of illusion and imagery, we want more of the same. It is an addictive electrifying experience. Sugar, salt, sex, consumerism all feeds into our dopamine pathways into an overdrive of desire.
It appears that there is never enough time, money, experiences that we can attract and consume fast enough. Yet I wonder why do we not try to chase MORE of self LOVE. This has a variety of facets which would include nourishing the body with MORE healthy nutrition or MORE exercise , or MORE sleep for recovery, reading MORE books. Spending MORE time alone and in quiet to contemplate and meditate. At times doing less is in fact MORE, namely MORE time for ourselves to grow, to evolve, to become MORE of who are meant to BE spiritually having a limited human experience.
We are blessed to live in this day and age of marvelous transformations that are happening at a phenomenal pace. Yet this is also the opportunity to not lose ourselves in the world of impulse and illusion by anchoring our light in the storms of chaos. It is through our heart space that we connect our spirit to our manifested frame. It is not about MORE, but the qualitative nature of our experience that we can have on this earth.
A simple conversation with a friend over a cup of tea. An hour of sitting under a tree or in the middle of a field undisturbed. Listening to the sounds of a nearby brook. Observing a flower blow in the wind. Closing one’s eyes and just feeling the sensations within the body. Enjoying a nutrient dense meal without hurry savoring every taste. Taking a walk or run by yourself or with a friend.
We are here to enjoy MORE of natural life and not focus on the artificial life that we have become accustomed to with our phones, tablets, laptops, smartwatches etc.
…………….
I love you
