How much does $ 7 get you these days?
The other day I came down with some sort of respiratory illness. I went to the pharmacy and was in the line to pick up my prescription. With my insurance coverage it was going to cost me $7 a pill, x 5 days for the antibiotic, ( about $35 for 5 days) No big deal per se when dealing with one’s health, but after I picked up the medication and I was heading back to the car, I had this thought. $ 7 a pill. What else does $7 translate into.
So a Starbucks pumpkin spice latte ( which is all the craze at the moment for all autumn time coffee aficionados), runs abut $7 without tip. Filled with flavor of the season and 6 pumps of pumpkin syrup which approximates to about 60 grams of sugar, just what any normal person needs to make them a diabetic or stimulate them enough to launch them to the moon.
Then a few fresh vegetables from the local farm stand also can total about $7. These vegetables have good starch qualities and provide excellent sustenance and nutritional density. Not hard to find during the summer and fall time on the side of the road, these stands tend to be great value rather than grocery store bought produce.
Now it is the same $7 that are utilized in different ways. One use will certainly lead to illness, namely the caffeinated sugared up beverage, and yet one is an artificially created pharmaceutical for health curation and one is a naturally designed organic product for health prevention.
It is the same $7. It does not differentiate between its use. It is used to destroy health, resurrect health and promote health. I just thought this was a rather amusing transition of currency usage. There is no right or wrong answer to this matter, as there is no question asked. It just simply is how we utilize money based on what our value and circumstance is in a particular moment.
…………..
I love you
