Fall is almost here. I can smell it in the air, I can see the gently turning of isolated leaves. I can taste the age of the trees as the days pass. The early morning fog comes on like a thick cover, blanketing the green foliage. As the day goes on we get a glimpse at the hint of color as the Divine Artist begins his strokes upon the ever changing landscape.

The invisible brushes that are employed are sunlight, air, the cool raindrops and many more tools that are hidden from sight but only known to the artisan. I can feel the evolution occurring within my bones. As the external space transforms, the internal time ticks away revealing my own change. I am like nature, nay I am nature, so I am to follow the same laws.

The organic order of the seasonal changes marks my own clock that ticks away relentlessly towards my inevitable end, and each season is just another reminder of the passage of time. But for me there is something very magical and special about fall time. The visual spectacle of the color warms my heart and senses. There is a feeling of safety as I begin to go within as is called by the season of winter, to not just sleep but to reflect.

I am invited by the splendor of autumn to jump into every soon to be leaf pile, connect to the earth, explore all things pumpkin, eat root vegetables, enjoy the energetics of the root and sacral chakras, sip on apple cider. All things that ground us to the earth in preparation for rest and sleep. Yet the fires of inner transformation continue to burn earnestly. The whimper of the flame sparks new ideas and reconciliation of the old as the cold of winter approaches.

Fall time. The accounting of the 3rd quarter is almost upon us. But this is not just about evaluating the ledger of life, yet more of an internal summation of experiences. It is a sorting of what worked, and what did not experiment. An estimation of how close we are to our life pursuits and goals. As the light begins to decrease each day as we head to the winter months, we are asked to shine our inner lights to guide our path during the upcoming darkness. This is what autumn teaches us. Dialing in the inner light. Nature is doing the same thing, on the inside, beneath the ground.

I spend a few minutes each day in the early morning and evening simply observing the light as it embraces all it touches, feeling the wisdom of the rays. I explore how each beam guides my heart. Try it. You might learn something as you connect your spirit to the earth.

I love you
